Dynamic Gentle Yoga, for Who?
Welcome All
Gentle-style yoga classes are for everyone! But they are especially suitable for those with:
- Movement limitations
- Profound stiffness due to lack of activity
- Disabilities and chronic conditions e.g., arthritis, back pain and other musculoskeletal issues
- Prior surgeries, illness or injuries from which they they are recovering
And gentle yoga is particularly ideal for:
- Those seeking stress-reduction
- Those seeking weight management
- Seniors
- Those new to yoga
- Women who are pregnant
Gentle yoga classes are appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice. The approach includes carefully orchestrated movements, controlled pressure, and well-measured stretches, including range of motion exercises. Postures may be approached in gradual steps, with plenty of time to focus on breathing and repetition so that the practice is simple to do and easy to remember. A gentle yoga style encourages a highly individualized approach to practice with on-going encouragement to make moment-to-moment adjustments.
These classes intend to be inclusive rather than exclusive, an approach that has birthed the term “Accessible Yoga.” This is a style for people who may have less than ideal flexibility, coordination and strength — the very same people who think that they can’t do yoga!
In response, gentle yoga classes attempt to “meet you where you are.”
Gentle yoga classes ideally provide a safe, effective, compassionate, non-competitive environment that is welcoming to all. Rudy’s Dynamic Gentle Yoga™ embodies all of these qualities. Join him for community-supported classes and experience the benefits for yourself.
