Gentle Classes & Events to Bring You Moments of Peace
Open to All – Beginners Welcome
*These classes are Mon/Wed/Fri in Fall & Winter and Wed/Fri in Spring/Summer
Begin from where you are; improvement is possible at any age and any stage. Experience gentle movements that build muscle mass and stimulate an increase in bone density from supported standing positions or seated in a chair. All you need for this workshop is a chair and a couple of common household items.
The Breath Practice is energizing and calming and includes simple yoga stretches that support increased resilience, awareness, flexibility and strength. This entire gentle practice is done seated in a chair though you can stand for parts of it if you prefer. Immediately following the practice is Community Time which includes Q&A about the practice, and conversation and study of the wisdom behind the practice of yoga.
A nurturing accessible class that is typically a mix of seated and supported standing movements. Sometimes the full practice is seated. This class makes yoga do-able for beginners — or anyone who wants the deeper benefits of yoga — without any requirements of strength or flexibility.
This Dynamic Gentle Yoga class includes accessible joint warm-ups, invigorating breath practices, and an innovative sequence of gentle movements and poses for increasing strength and improving flexibility with a simple focus on alignment precision. Standing movements and poses help to improve balance. A variety of simple moves loosen hips and spine, while a restorative pose and guided deep relaxation ensures your body gets to rest. The final portion of the class is a gentle breath practice and meditation, for which you may either stay on the mat or move to a chair.
A gentle approach to treating the body and calming the nervous system, providing improved alignment and increased well-being — felt in the very first class. Drawing on cutting-edge, neurofascial science and proven manual therapy practices, this groundbreaking self-treatment program utilizes Hands-off Bodywork® techniques to support the health, fitness, and quality of life of any person, at any age or activity level.
