Trust Your Experience: Avoid Pain and Strain

If you are new to yoga, curious, or full of questions, you have come to the right place. Yoga is many things to many people. There is no yoga practice or yoga tradition that is right for everyone and no “right way” to do yoga that you have to fit yourself into.

You can relax, explore, and shop around. There are almost as many yogas as there are yoga teachers. They all bring their view and style and experience to what they teach. So, it is a good idea to explore until you find a teacher you are comfortable with. Even then, stay open to exploring and taking different types of yoga classes.

Trust your experience. Trust what you sense in your body as you practice. You’ll hear me explain this  at the beginning of every class and it bears repeating here: In any class and in fact, in life, you are welcome to release anything at any time. You are welcome to do something different if your body needs something different. I encourage you to experiment and explore. Mainly, avoid pain, strain or any sharp sensations especially in the joints.

I hope you will join me soon for an experience of Dynamic Gentle Yoga to see if it is a good fit for you.
